25 Things About Me

Today I wanted to do a fun post, so I am sharing 25 things (you don't know) about me. If you want, you can comment and tell me some things about you (you don't have to have your own website to comment).

  1. I used to play the Clarinet in grade school. I was quite good and excelled quickly, but the clarinet I used was a school rental. The cork on one of the clarinet pieces broke off, and it took me weeks to tell my parents and music teacher. I was deathly afraid of getting in trouble, or owing money. I finally told my teacher, and it was replaced it for free (what a relief)! I knew my family couldn't afford to get me my own, so I eventually quit at the end of the year.

  2. I wanted to be an entrepreneur upon graduating high school, but ended up getting pregnant with my oldest so I postponed college. When I started college, I went for business, but then I moved. I graduated last year, but I never thought I would switch majors and get a degree in Psychology. I actually decided to go back to school because I was so depressed (after my brother died). I mostly wanted to learn about myself and family, and why we think, talk, and behave the way we do.

  3. I fall under Type A personality (but I almost didn't graduate high school). Life growing up was so out of control, that I always want to be in control. I like to be prepared and organized and hate spontaneity or surprises. I often worry and struggle with anxiety. God is definitely working on me in this area.

  4. I'm an Ambivert. I can be extrovert-like at times, but as I'm getting older, I'm starting to feel more like an introvert. I used to be loud, talkative, and outgoing (and still can be around those I’m comfortable with). When I meet new people, I am shy, quiet, and reserved.

  5. I am saddened because I have no baby pictures. The youngest photo I have of myself is when I am 5 or 6 years old. I have three girls and desire to see if any of them look like me when I was a baby. (I am still hopeful a baby picture of me will mysteriously show up).

  6. I've never had allergies until a few years ago. It's true that you can acquire them at any age, but I'm sure my are stress-induced.

  7. I got to name my little sister, and also nicknamed my niece.

  8. My favorite chocolate is Hershey Hugs (symphony, carmello, and chocolate mints are up there too!)

  9. My first time out of the country was in 2014 with my husband and other family members; we went to Cozumel. The evening I landed, I learned that my older brother had passed away. Vacationing was hard, but returning to the states and facing reality was even more difficult.

  10. I've been married for 15 years. My husband had attempted a few times to date me, but I always had a boyfriend. After giving him a chance, we have 3 wonderful girls together!

  11. The only surgery I have undergone was putting in ear tubes, and taking out wisdom teeth.

  12. I had gestational diabetes with all 3 of my girls, and gained a minimum of 60 pounds with each pregnancy. My nurses would comment on my weight and ask if I was having twins.

  13. I used to be a tomboy growing up, and loved playing all different types of sports.

  14. My parents moved a lot, so I went to many different schools. I'm not too pleased, and feel that the constant moving caused gaps in my learning.

  15. I never considered myself an artist until I won an Art Award for my drawing in 9th grade. After that, my love for art grew dramatically.

  16. I was a hairstylist and makeup artist for 7 years.

  17. I hate confrontations, and avoid them like the plague.

  18. I was the only one out of my siblings to be delivered via C-Section. (Satan wanted to kill me even then, but didn't succeed!)

  19. My foot grew a whole shoe size after pregnancy.

  20. In Kindergarten, I did not get to go to ESL/ELL class because I did not need it. I was sad, especially when they were having fun and eating Hmong Food! (Yes, if you are wondering, I am Hmong.)

  21. I hate watching scary movies.

  22. I enjoy hosting, cooking, and giving gifts.

  23. I fell asleep in a closet while playing hide-n-seek with my brother. (I went to hide, but he never actually came to find me.) Eventually, my parents found me sleeping in the closet.

  24. I told my elementary school counselor that I wanted to kill myself, so that I could sit in her office and eat candy (like another student had done).

  25. I have an Instagram Account! Follow me! @hispurposeprevails
