God is in total control

It's quite unsettling to know how many people are medicated for anxiety, depression, and stress. Medication can be helpful, but it isn't a cure; it only treats the symptoms. Even those who are not medicated experience worry, distress, and fear on the daily. I typed the word worry in the search bar and this came up: gives way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles. Even the definition is miserable sounding. When we worrywe constantly think about things which have not yet happened, and they're usually things we have no control over. We worry about how the bills are going to be paid, what we are going to eat, the well-being of our children, our house, our job, our health, our loved ones, and the list goes on and on. Some of us even know that worry is bad and that it doesn't help, but we still worry. I believe we worry because there are a few concepts we lack. For one, we don't believe God loves us. Furthermore, we don't believe God is in control and we don't believe that God will provide. We doubt God and stress ourselves out because we don't understand how much God loves us. We lack faith, which feeds the root of worry, which is fear.

1 John 4:18 says There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. If we truly understood God's love for us, we would not fear, but we have not been able to grasps our Heavenly Father's perfect love. Only God's love is perfect. Ask God to open your heart and mind to His perfect love. Fear is paralyzing and prevents us from experiencing joy, peace, and comfort. Additionally, we cannot have faith when we have fear. We cannot have hope when we have doubt. We cannot enjoy life along with feelings of constant stress or depression. We have been giving in to all these tormenting emotions, but we need to take action. We need to remove those  negative thoughts and replace them with God's Word. We can choose to dwell on what God can do and not be driven by emotion. We must stand firm on God's Word for it is powerful, living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

We must find out who God is. Our emotions, doubt, and hopelessness fills us with poisonous lies, but the Bible is filled with God's works, wonders, miracles, and power. I would like to remind you who our God is. Regardless of our circumstances and other things we are blinded by, God is in control of everything and every situation. God can do anything. Matthew 19:26 says But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Nothing is too difficult for our God (Jeremiah 32:17). In 1 Kings 18, you can read about how God's prophet Elijah challenged other gods, to which the other gods were put miserably to shame. No one can face our God, no one can come against Him. No one can removed Him from His throne. He will never be moved, for He is God alone! He is the Alpha and Omega, the Author and Finisher, the Beginning and End. Psalm 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Why do we worry and become fearful?

Matthew 10:28 tells us that we should not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. I could go on and on, but I would like you to search verses for yourself. I believe that God will speak to You through His Word. He is a personal and loving God who knows you better than you know yourself. Remember that our circumstances are only temporary, but our God is everlasting. We may not have the answers or whys behind everything, but that isn't any our business. God doesn't have to explain himself to any of us. We are His creation. Colossians 1:6 says For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him. We must remember that God says “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.  Do not be afraid, for I myself will help you,' declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 41:13-14.

We need to trust in God and heed these directions in Philippians 4:6-7 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God is in full control. Have faith and trust Him. Turn to Him and lay down your cares. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7). I know God can work miracles and wonders in your life. Your breakthrough is coming. Ask Him to help and have faith.

Deliver them from all fear, worry, and anxiety. Clear their minds and renew their minds with Your Word. Remind them to replace their thoughts with Your promises found in the Bible. I pray that they will run to You when they experience anxiety. Teach them how to cast down their cares. We give you praise Father God! You are Holy, Strong, Righteous, and unmovable! Thank You that Your Word does not return void but it completes all that You've called it to do (Isaiah 55:11). I thank You for the breakthroughs and deliverance. In Jesus' name, amen.
