Biblical Promises to Remember
Sometimes, when I’m in one of my moods‚ I have to remember to speak God’s Word over my life. Maybe I’m feeling depressed, or my thoughts are dark and gloomy. I could be feeling empty, worthless, or lost. I have to remind myself that feelings are not permanent and they often come and go. We cannot solely rely on our emotions, but we can put our hope in Christ, and stand on God’s Word. His promises last a lifetime. They are never outdated because God does not lie or change. The Bible says God is same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8)!
Here are a few I love and often have to say out loud:
Being confidant of this, that he who has began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6)
For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order for fulfill his good purpose (Philippians 2:13)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)
No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37)
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you (Isaiah 54:17)
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
But this is what the Lord says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save” (Isaiah 49:25)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love (Romans 8:38)
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things (Philippians 4:8)
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5)
He said, "Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
Many of these verses will remind us not to put faith in ourselves, anything, or anyone other than God. It is important that you take hold of that knowledge. Lamentations 3:24 says I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." We must have faith that God truly created us, and that He will finish in us what He started. If you’ve accepted the gift of salvation, it doesn’t have to end there. You can experience God’s joy, peace, and love. He will lead you and help you to fulfill the purpose He’s created and called you to do. We all have bad days, but we can begin again and again. Each day is a new day. We will mess up, but His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The scriptures above tell us that we can prevail, we can do all things, and we are more than conquerors. But the most important aspect is that we need Him. We cannot do it all alone, and God doesn’t expect us to. He will always be with us; He goes before us and He will fight against those who fight against us. We need to believe in His love for us. It is imperative that we change our negative thoughts into positive thoughts, and continue to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) making sure that it aligns with God’s Word. Remember that God will help you fight your battles; they belong to him and you are never alone.

Father God,
You are so awesome and I want to thank you for all the readers who you’ve led to this post. I also want to thank your many promises for us in Scripture. Help us to remember that you are not a man that you should lie (Numbers 23:19) so we can have full assurance that Your Word is true. Also, I thank you for our ability to feel, have intuition, senses, and thoughts. These are other gifts from you and through these things, we can experience life, nature, and relationships. However, they are not always the best in guiding us through life. Please help us to remember your Words and to rely on YOU more than we do our thoughts and emotions.
Thank you for your Word is beautiful and your promises are powerful and true. Help us to know that your Word is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We trust you and we choose to stand on Your Promises. Be with the readers and hear their requests. Help them in all their areas of struggle. Meet them right where they are. All praise and Glory is yours forever.
